Will DDR3 PC3-12800 ram work on my laptop that only uses PC3-8500?
I have this weird option because PC3-12800 rams are cheaper than PC3-8500. I'm upgrading from two pcs 2gb ram (not the same brand) to 2pcs 4gb ram of the same brand.

My only concern here is the price. Higher ram frequency is cheaper here. My motherboard specs says it only supports 800-1066 ddr3. So will it work? Even if it will down clock the speed?

I would say it's 99% safe bet it will run fine at whatever the fastest speed your system can handle. What is the RAM part number, or at least manufacturer? You should be able to look up the JEDEC table from the manufacturer site.
