I've been searching for an answer for hours now and I can't find an answer. Will DDR400 work in a Turion 64 ML-40 notebook? Specifically the ASUS A6U? AMD's memory controller is onboard the Turion chip and it supports DDR400 but I have yet to find a notebook from any manufacturer with a Turion chip that says it will support DDR400. They all claim to only support DDR333.

If it only supports DDR333 then why is it limited?

    Thanks

I have been researching the chipset (SiS M760GX + 964L) used in the ASUS A6U and it does in fact support DDR400. The only thing that I can think of that would prevent this laptop from supporting DDR400 is if ASUS did not put the proper dividers in the BIOS.

I just purchased 2Gb of Crucial DDR400 and will try it in my ASUS A6U next week. I'll report back with the results as soon as I'm sure of the outcome.

:) I can now confirm that DDR400 works perfectly with the ASUS A6U. I've been running this machine for two days without any lockups. Memtest has completed 24 hrs of looped tests without error. Yea :asus:

BTW, I upgraded to BIOS to 206 if anyone is interested.
