My laptop has a HDMI 1.3. HDMI 1.3 supports 2560x1600 resolution.
The Dell 3008wfp has HDMI and Displayport

Will I be able to run 2560x1600 native resolution on the monitor from my laptop via HDMI cable?

It is confirmed that a HDMI->D-DVI adaptor will not run 2560x1600 resolution in a D-DVI slot on the older Dell 3007WFP monitor. So I am considering buying the new Dell 3008WFP monitor if it allows me to use 2560x1600 native resolution via HDMI from my laptop.

lots of talk has me a bit confused about this, need clear answers, if someone has their laptop HDMI connection working or has tried it, let me know about it...thanks...

You know what I just connected an old macbook pro (2007) to the dell 3008wfp. I did it via DVI and it works in full resolution (2560x1600).
I just ordered XPS 1645 just because I needed the displayport and its resolution but now my old macbook pro supports it via DVI. I cant believe after all the things I read in the forums.
