Hello I have a Dell E4300 and my wife has an Hp 2530P notebook and I'm looking at adding a 2nd hard drive caddy via the optical bay. I'm wondering if the same caddy will fit in both? I'm thinking they will, but just want to verify this thinking lol. Thanks all in advance. Oh I will be buying 2 caddies, just looking at buying them from the same seller. Looking at something like this.

Yes, both systems use a 9.5mm sata optical drive so the same caddy will work in both. Do note that the E4300 doesn't have a boot option for the caddy so you'd need to boot via another bootable device and direct the bootloader to the caddy. 2530P bios supports boot off the upgrade bay no probs.

No worries. There is a 2530P ebay caddy by Nimitz that's got the faceplate molded specifically for it. That's the one to go for to get a perfect fit.

Consider too newmodeus sell a genuine 2530P HP clone caddy. The benefit over the ebay ones is you get an extra USB port off the caddy faceplate. The downside is that newmodeus caddy costs US$59+shipping. I've seen some of those HP 2530P caddies on bay for low $$ as a s/h unit. Perhaps worth keeping an eye out for?

Oh one more thing. I remembered once on a thread you mentioned a fenvi branded caddy. Is that still a good brand as well?

The one you linked in your first post looks like a Fenvi chassis given it has a top that is secured down by a few screws. Interesting, it even has two screwholes on the bottom plate to pin down the SSD/HDD. Nice.

The advantage of the Fenvi, and presumable the one you've linked, over some other ebay caddies is their stronger full metal chassis and a swappable faceplate.
