    Will a Dell Precision M6600 accept an i7-2720QM?

    I bought a computer that isn't what was sold to me.

    Told a quad core, not 2 x threading.

    Will the i7-2720QM work in it? The current is a i7-2620M.

    Another concern is the wattage and heat. Current CPU is 35w and the one I want is 45. I have seen Sandy bridges that are 55w in the 4900 series, IIRC. Would those be safe to use?

    How about an i7-2960XM Processor Extreme Edition? 55w vs 35w currently.

    Given that that chart says it'll take the 2920XM, it will probably take the 2960XM too.
