I just got the BL2710PT and plan on using it with my Zenbook Prime.
To take the advantage of the QHD resolution I have to manually change the resolution to 2560x1440 in the Intel control panel.
    The message I get says:

"Warning: Altering resolutions may reduce system stability and useful life of the system and chipset; cause the chipset and other system components to fail; cause reductions in system performance; cause additional heat or other damage; and affect system integrity...."

Is it safe to run the external monitor from my Zenbook at 2560x1440 while the build in screen is running at 1920x1080???
Or will it shorten the life of the chipset???

I do this every day with no issues whatsoever. Both monitors are at native resolution. But you can adjust resolution to the lowest monitor if you want to scan.

The larger monitor is just my main screen while the smaller one is used as my work area. Its good to have software you can dock and undock the panels.
