I have a TSSTCorp SN-S082D DVD Burner for my M570U. I've always wanted to swap it out for a slot load DVD Burner [ Pioneer DVR-K06RS]. My current DVD Burner bezel is weird in shape.

So yeah, is it possible? Or am I just outta luck?

You would have to make a notch into the bezel on the slotloading drives, for it to fit.

Voodoo uses slot loading drives in almost all of their laptops, I believe that they use Panasonic slot loading drives. You should check them out, because I think that they had a laptop which had slotloading and a similar bezel to the one on your laptop.

I did some googling, and I couldn't find one with that kind of bezel =[

And can I really cut into those drives? It seems to me like I'll be fudging with the internal mechanisms =/

Carefully cutting the faceplate of the slot-loader should be relatively straight-forward. Mounting screw locations are standardized. The main thing to look out for is that there are two types of "mini-ide" connectors. Make sure your replacement drive will have the same connector as your original drive. In other words, you might want to remove the drive and any proprietory connector hardware to see exactly what the bare drive's IDE connector looks like. Then when ordering the replacement, make sure you order a drive with the same sort of connector on the back of the bare drive.

Okay, I'll order the drive soon enough then. As far I see from pictures[I took out my DVD Burner], the connectors are the same. I just have trouble with the bezel. Thanks for the help =]
