I currently own a dv9580ee and want to upgrade from 2 to 4 GB. I visited crucial.com to see how much ram my computer can handle and wanted to select my laptop but i noticed that they only had the dv9580 us. ( http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=Pavilion dv9580us ). It said that the dv9580us can only run up to 2GB. However, that was the dv9580us and not the ee. I sent an email to HP asking them this question but they still haven't responded. So I wanted to ask whether my computer will be able to run 4GB.
    Thanks in advance.

If you only have a 32bit OS, however, you wouldn't be able to fully utilize all 4 GB

945 chipset will not let you use more than roughly 3.4-3.6GB, regardless of OS.
