Alright, now, I can't stand using those little thumb pads, and I tend to play a lot of games. This means, mousetime.

I have a logitech G5 laser mouse. 2000 DPI. Probably uses as much power as a nuclear reactor (or at least my imagination tells me it would).

Anyone have any idea as to how much this type of mouse would hurt battery life?

I personally love it, i do so much better in my games like Counter Strike Source, love the 2,000 dpi. When i go to school i hate the mouses because of the such a low sensitivity, i even pointer speed all the way up, and turn pointer persition off, and still isn't sensitive enough...

and did i mention it matches my pc case perfectly?

Hum. Good question. I never play games without my laptop being plugged into an outlet. Personally I don't think it could hurt the battery that much. An external hard drive on the other hand... :p.

My only concern is because it's a high-performance mouse.

    You play Counter-Strike Source NFS?

We have a server, V3 Western Canada, if you're interested. Laggy right now, but upgrades soon.

    No Not really
Just tried it out with my Hi-Po Gaming Mouse and it drained me an additional 5 min compared to using the touch-pad so I don't think It will (Unless you have one of those HUGE alienwares that get 1/2 hr off the battery anyway)...

I have the G5 as well, and, I don't see much if a change, if anything, as TBird mentioned, a few minutes.

Given that my wireless mouse runs off two AA batteries for months, it seems rather unlikely the Razoe will have a much bigger impact ;)
