    I have a Compaq Pressario 2500 p4 2.6 ghz, and its got 2gb of ram, I'd like to know (and havent been able to find out) if I can put 1gb of that into my inspiron 700m to upgrade from the 512. Anyone have any idea?

    Thanks!

    Actually it might be! They're both DDR. Try running cpuz to ID the ram and post your results up here.

    If your DDR rating are exactly the same (timings (if applys), voltage, and CAS latency (2.5 or 3)) it SHOULD work - DDR is capable of running together as long as CAS and voltages are the same (eg. ddr 333 and ddr 266 and long as persay both were 1.7v and CAS of 2.5)(lower CAS better)
    PC2700 = DDR333 - 2100 = 266 if i remember correctly -
