    Only reason I see it wouldn't is if it can't support a 500GB, but it seem like that's unlikely.

    no it wont work.

    The 500gb hitachi is 12.7 mm thick. Your laptop only supports harddrives up to 9.5mm thick.
    If you want a 500gb drive, look at the 500gb 5400rpm drive by samsung as it is a 9.5mm thick drive.

    The Samsung 500GB consumes 25% more power, gets hot and has the highest accestimes. Check Tomshardware for the details.

    You may want to go for a 320GB 5400 or 7200rpm drive instead.
