    Hello,
I need to know if this ram will work in my laptop. I spent a lot of money on it :p so I want to make sure it will work before I open it. My laptop is a Compaq V4000t. I got two sticks of this ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820231042.
Sorry about the dumb question but I need to make sure  .
    Thanks,
    Tim

Looks good to me! Should work...I don't know too much about that brand though.

If you are looking to spend a little more money you could get the Transcend (Samsung) memory...it is only a couple of bucks more. :)

You will definently notice a big difference in performance. You will never settle for anything less that 1Gig again. Believe me! :)

Yes it will work. He was just concerened that if the V4000T did not support DDR2 it wouldn't. Sorry for the confusion, yes it will work. :)

I don't know how people are having problems with it. Mine worked fine after I updated the driver. Here is a thread if you are interested in trying to get help.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=11402

I googled it and found that there were new drivers from Intel and I haven't had problems since.

Which drivers did you install? What type of router do you use?
I really don't want to try and replace it if I could just get it to work good. It's sad when your transfer rate goes down to 1Mbps and you still have a great connection :(.
This weekend I am going to reinstall windows maybe that will fix it. We are also using a wireless modem but I am going to try out a D-Link router. I think the modem might not be able to handle two wireless connections because our desktop slowed down after I had the ethernet cable plugged into my laptop. I don't know it just bugs me.
    Thanks,
    Tim

I am at work right now and my computer is off so I can't remote into it right now.

I am using a Netgear router at home and it is the only wireless that is active in my house. My other lappy isn't on very much.

If you are using a DSL modem as a wireless router I have heard of slowdown from that. It could also be where or what you are downloading. If you want to test your connection to your computer you can try:

    www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/

This will give you an idea of what you are getting in terms of speed.
