    No it will not. That is not an ODD caddy. You had previously started a thread where you had posted a link of a caddy. We said that the one you posted should work fine. Is there a reason that one is not acceptable?

    yes i remember others said it would work, so before buying i double checked with the seller and he said it won't fit/work with my laptop

    so specifically, what size/spec caddy do i need?

    There is no way to know what without knowing what size of drive your laptop can carry. You would need to measure the size or at least post your drive's make and model here. I cannot find specifications for the dvd drive size on the internet and I am not familiar with that laptop to know it off the top of my head.

    thanks, this is the DVD drive make/model:

    M A T S H I T A DVD-RAM UJ8C0

    - I had to do the spaces between the dvd drive make letters as it kept deleting part of it as is a swear word

    Will inserting a caddy in place of the DVD void the warranty? and would upgrading the RAM?
    i still have 18 months Sony warranty
