I need to upgrade my wifi card in my Dell Latitude D531 to a 5GHZ card.
I THINK I have a pci express card in there now (Dell 1390 WLAN card). Can I just buy ANY wifi N mini PCIX card and swap it out? Would this one work?

I would say maybe or no it won't work. First off check with Dell your "Service Tag" and check their upgrade or driver software update and in there there should identify what Wifi they can upgrade to. Just getting a card online is no gurantee it will work. You need to check with Dell using your Service Tag number to make sure. -
So this would be a better solution, then?
This is a 5300 on Amazon.

It is a dell, stick whatever in there and it will work. If you don't want to brother with adapter, scotch tape it down.
Just avoid Hp/lenovo card if you getting a 6xxx series.
Will this fit in my laptop? Wifi card upgrade
