Will this shorten my notebook's lifespan in anyway??

I have been using a Dell Inspiron 9300 since I purchased it in August '05 to produce music on. A few days ago I ordered a Dell Vostro to take over as my day to day computer and will dedicate the 9300 solely to production.

There are 6 USB ports - out of which I plan to constantly run a keyboard, mouse, external hard drive, MIDI music keyboard, printer, and possibly my iPod.

I will also run an external monitor constantly, and connect my audio interface via the firewire port.

My question, will having all of this running constantly while in use (probably about 6hrs a day, 3 or 4 days a week) shorten the "life span" in anyway of the notebook? For the last 2 years I've done this anyway, but now am getting worried that it is aging and need to start taking care of it.

Or is this a stupid question and I have nothing to worry about? Thanks...

Unless the physical plug breaks after plugging in and out like a million times, nothing should wear out and break.

Hmmm ok. Good then! ha. I'm wanting to use the laptop as essentially the CPU tower and external monitor, while having the actual external monitor front and center with a keyboard and mouse.
