    I have a Dell XPS M1730 with T8300 core2duo processor. I am willing to get most powerful as possible. I came by this processor. Can any tell if this gonna work in my laptop? Or it is can support maximum to x7900 and x9000 core2extreme. Thanks

    I don't think there is an M1730 revision with a 45 chipset. Unless there is, you won't be able to use the QX9300 or any other 1066MHz FSB processor.

    Won't work. the XPS 1730 is 965PM based notebook which can use only CPUs with 677 or 800Mhz FSB.

    M4400? M6400? Maybe E6500? Don't think there's anything in the Inspiron-Studio-XPS area though.

    Dont the new 1066mhz FSB penryns have FSB throttling? Granted you would lose speed.

    x-9000 will be it , just put one in my hp 8510 , even better on yours cause of ulockeed multiplier , on yours you can run it at 3.4 ghz . Dell does this already on the xps line
    and it runs cooler than my t-7500 did , even before I undervolted . with u/v 30c at idle 53-58 at 100%
