I'm getting the message when trying to install windows on my new ssd in msata slot.

Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On Efi systems, windows can only be installed to GPT discs.

I have a lenovo y500 with 1tb hdd sata already.

    Any ideas?

Start the Windows install and at the select Language form press SHIFT + F10.

Type the following commands exactly (omitting notes); Press Enter key after each line:

    DISKPART
    LIST DISK
SELECT DISK n (n = number of the target disk to bring into focus to operate on)
    CLEAN (< 1 minute duration)
    CONVERT GPT
    EXIT
    EXIT

Done. Select your language then click the next/ok buttons to install Windows.
