I just bought a USB wireless mouse today for my notebook. I see that sometimes while mouse is idle, my cursor automatically shakes and moves a little( just like trembling and moving a bit from its original place and going away gradually). It,s a bit annoying for me. Is it usual with wireless mouse or my mouse is not good one, or may be something in settings etc?

Never heard of such a thing. I have the Logitech MX1000 (the greatest mouse ever made) and it does no such thing. If you didn't know there was no cord, you wouldn't realize it, until the battery ran low.

Sounds like you're having tracking issues. I'm assuming you got an optical mouse (as opposed to a laser mouse)? If it is a tracking issue, try using your mouse on a different surface.

I have a Microsoft high performance (1000dpi) optical mouse. It is great! It sounds like you are either having tracking issues with the surface, or you need to reconnect. Try hitting the reconnect buttons on both the dongle and the mouse. Maybe that will help a bit.

It,s optical one. And I don,t know how but just now it started to wotk fine with no spontanous cursor movements, on same mouse pad. However I did notice connection issues somtimes, seems a bit buggy or may be as I got it real cheep.

i personaly have and still have a M$ wireless optical mouse and it suxed... worked for about 1.5 months before the thing littlerly barely worked..

At one time i had 3 mice on my computer to play games, because one after another will just keep on failing so i hadda quickly use the next mouse to keep on gaming.

Now im not sure what a lazer mouse would be like...but still, im a FPS gamer, i'll stick the Wired optical mouse thanks :D Logitech MX510.

Now if you really hafta use a wireless mouse, do check out what others have mentioned.

    Thanks,

    MysticGolem

So next time I will buy a Microsoft or Logittech one, personally I like Logitech,s shape and want to but its cordless key board and mouse but I think in this matter one very important thing is Battery life/ chargable or rechargable batery etc. Can anybody guide about that. Also anybody tried Labtec, as they are relatively cheeper here.

Sometimes, going the cheaper route might mean you're actually going the more expensive route. If its cheaply made, the quality might nto be all that good, so it could break faster than an item relatively mroe expensive. But as long as you do your research on a anyting that seems "cheaper" and conclude that it is a great product, by all means, go for it! :p But can't stress that enough, research. I'm doing the same thing now too, although I'm looking for a bluetooth mouse. :)

Also I want to know how you can compare optical and laser mouse?
USB mouse-- what is the advantage? It must be much more expensive?

Actually, almost any mouse you buy today- particularly from the big two, MS and Logitech- will be USB, so I wouldn't worry about that. There are two big advantages with USB over PS/2- 1) Many new laptops (Thinkpads, for example) no longer include PS/2 ports and 2) USB is hot-swappable, meaning that you can plug/unplug the mouse at any time with no ill effects (it's possible that plugging and unplugging a PS/2 mouse will make a machine freeze, though more typically that relates only to keyboards).

As for laser vs. optical- laser will track on more surfaces, and seems to be vaguely more accurate. On the other hand, laser is also only available on higher end devices, so that may actually be the difference.
