I have a IBM think pad r50e model which is around from 2005.
Recently i have taken wireless connection for my internet. I am trying to activate the thinkpad to get the wireless connection and get the light to come up but not able to do it.
Can anyone of you please advise how and also tell me if the wireless symbol appears that means the computer is wireless enabled??
Your advise and help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    welcome to the forum.

First make sure you have the correct Wireless adaptor driver installed. Go to Device manager > Network Adapters, you should see something like Intel PRO/Wireless 2200bg or something similar depending on your Wireless adapter model. If you can see it without any errors (yellow exclamation marks or red X sign) then everything is working fine. You can download drivers from here.

You should also see a small Wireless icon on the system tray (like this). If you see that, double click it to bring up a window with a list of all the wireless networks in range. If you don’t see the icon, then go to control panel > Network connections > right click the Wireless adapter and select “Connect”, that should bring up the same window as mentioned above. Once you have the list, select your network (give the password if encrypted), thats it.
