    Hey-

I currently have the following setup on my home rig-

    GA-965P-DQ6 Revision 1 motherboard
    core2duo e6700 overclocked to 3.4ghz
    8gb ddr2 ocz reaper ram
    GTX 260
    Velociraptor

Anyways, I was thinking about getting a quad core proc since they have come down in price so much ( only about ~200$ now )

But I wanted to know if its even worth it- This motherboard is 2+ years old and I fear that since its so old, the clocks or whatever would be so low that it wouldnt be worth it.

Specs on the motherboard are here : http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products...rboard&ProductID=2295&ProductName=GA-965P-DQ6

Best to have a look in the desktop review section - this forum is meant for laptops.

Though getting a cheap Q6600 G0 probably can allow you to run 3.6 Ghz quad. Depends on what you do, but unless games you play really need a quad, I see no reason to upgrade from 3.4 Ghz dual core. :)

The processor speed is adequate. I would save and get an i7/5 machine in a year or so when its adoption becomes mainstream. In the meantime your overclocked dual is more than enough.
