I don't know if this question has been asked, as I am fairly new to this forum. I have just recently bought a Dell Inspiron E1505 with the following configuration:
Intel Core Duo Processor T2400 (2MB/1.83GHz/667MHz)
15.4 Inch UltraSharp TrueLife Wide-Screen WSXGA+
1GB Ram (DDR2, 533MHz)
256B GeForce 7300 Graphics Card
120GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows XP Home SP2
8X DVD+/-RW Drive
SoundBlaster Advanced Audio
Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 802.11a/g Mini Card (54Mbps)
Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module (2.0 + EDR)
53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Windows Vista Capable
I wanted to know, if I should waiting for the Core 2 Duo is a big deal. I will be using this laptop for mostly multi-tasking, watching movies, and occasionally some games. The games are usually, what I consider, the high-end games (F.E.A.R, Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2, Hitman 2: Blood Money, etc.). Mostly for just watching movies!![]()
Is it a big deal to wait for the Core 2 Duo, or will this config be perfectly fine?

Core 2 Duo is about 20% faster than Core Duo, but only in very intensive processing software. As you say, movies, and general multitasking is of priority, then the Core 2 Duo isn't faster than Core Duo. Even in games, there is no difference in Core Duo and Core 2 Duo. The reason is because of the bottleneck of the graphics. You wil not benefit from Core 2 Duo in games, because your graphics aren't too powerful. Even way more powerful graphics are still the bottleneck in games, and the processor won't make difference. Your current system will be fine.

Not worth it in my mind.
As far as narrowing it down, the only people that could tell you that at this point are those that work for the companies. I don't think they'd reallly be allowed to share that info though.
Worth the wait for Core 2 Duo?
