Would Core 2 Duo extreme X7800 will work on my laptop?

I got an DELL Inspiron 1520 which is working fine, but I want to upgrade the CPU from T7300 to X7800,,,,,,,, and I have seen few infos from few website including Intel's.

The intel's web show that the T7300 TDP is around 35W and X7800' TDP is around 44W so, is this will cause any problem???

I think the X7800 is a pretty bad CPU, there are better ones out there.
Also I have been able to OC my T7300 to 2.6ghz and I think it still has more in it.

Edit: some good ones are; T9500, T9300, X9000.

I would stick with the T7300 and overclock it with setfsb.

Potentially yes because it will generate more heat, which your laptop is probably not designed to handle. Is there some reason you want to upgrade? If you're just doing Office and Internet the marginal value is very small if any. In that case a faster hard drive is a much better upgrade.
