Hi guys, I have a quick question for you.

I was just thinking if this card:
DELL Wireless : Dell Wireless 370 Bluetooth (Kit) : Wireless & Fixed Networking - Accessories | Dell UK

would work fine in my HP Pavilion DV4 laptop. I have one unused Mini PCI-E port and would like to put this card into it. I'm sure it would fit physically, but I'm not sure if the HP will recognize DELL's part. What do you think?

There's one for sale on eBay: Acer ASUS BCM92046 Bluetooth Wireless Mini PCI-E CARD - eBay (item 180541333897 end time Aug-09-10 02:26:20 PDT) and the seller claims it will...but better safe, than sorry and that's why I'm asking.

    P.S.:
    - I can't live without bluetooth (wireless mouse, cell phone...)
    - I'm using one of those micro small usb bluetooth dongles, but I don't like the fact that it takes up additional usb port
    - I had a bluetooth module inside my laptop, but the connector on the mainboard got f'ed up (don't ask), so unless that's repairable I can't use the small bluetooth module anymore..

It's likely just branded dell, because most of the Dell BT solutions are of Broadcom reference. I think it should work fine, though I don't know if HP whitelists or blacklists anymore.

The Dell cards themselves usually don't have any restrictions on them that prevent them from being used in other machines... but I think HP whitelists/blacklists these types of cards.

Thanks for the answers. A little bit of googling and I've found out that HP BIOSes still have whitelists in them :(.
