    Does anyone know if a "Radeon HD 7970M" would work in the m17x R2 ? and how much would it cost ?

    i dont want to spend too much. and would it have native fan control ?

    IIRC the m17x R2 works with the clevo version of the 8970m

    @Raidriar would be able to confirm, as he has on hand experience with upgrading that machine.

    Some 7970M not work, better to get clevo 8970M and flash non enduro bios to get it working. Some 7970M and 8970M and r9 m290x come with enduro enabled vbios which will cause no POST if used in M17x R2. Need non-enduro vbios, check my installation thread
