In a standard netbook (atom 1.6), would upgrading to an intel ssd or similar ssd make much of a difference?

I realize it's a oddthing to do cost-wise since ssd is almost as much as netbook, but i'm just looking for feedback on performance perspective

It would absolutely increase the performance.. But it's kind off a waste.

Atom processors and netbooks are useless. Get a CULV notebook, it weighs sligtly more than a netbook but has 1000% better performance than a netbook...

Agreed, now there are CULV notebooks where the size and price is the same or slightly higher than a netbook, but they are more future-proof. I think netbooks will soon be obsolete with models like the Acer 1410/1810. :)

That depends, if you buy the Netbook for the reason most people buy for, future proofing doesn't matter as much. It's just a 2nd or 3rd machine for convenient, internet and light usage.

OP: I think you should stick that drive somewhere else. For reads, sequential is just as important as random and you'll be stuck to ~120MB/s, which is half the spec. It might be fun to just try it but, its kinda wasteful.
