Would I be able to replace my current RAM?
And what should I do with my old RAM?

Yes you would. Any reason why you picked that particular brand of memory? any DDR3 PC3 8500 memory or in other words, 1066MHz DDR3 RAM should work fine on your laptop, regardless of brand..
Sell your old RAM for a few bucks.
-
It's the cheapest on newegg by like... 15 dollars lol so that pretty much sold me.

Your CPU does support 1333 ram though.

I did some research on the model of his lappy, I'm not sure if the board supports 1333, I think the board only supports up to 1066..I'm not sure about it though, but the laptop does come with 1066 factory installed memory, idk if Sony just did that to save some bucks or if the board only supports 1066..
Hey if it's $15 then I'd say go for it..
-
i5 520m only supports 1066mhz according to intel.

Yeah go for it. I mean it's 8GB ram for $15! You really don't even have to think about it! lol
-
>_> Not for 15 dollars. For 15 dollars LESS than other RAM. It's 60 dollars for it. Pretty damn good.
-
Oh lol, I was like "OMG 8GB RAM for $15! Damn tech is cheap in the US". Well $15 less is still a pretty big price difference..That's like a 30% price difference..Brand shouldn't matter most of the time anyway..Rarely does one actually "feel" the difference between RAM brands anyway..I'd say go for it..

Just wanted to make sure it would all work properly =p
thanks -
Sure, glad I could help..
Would this RAM work for my computer?
