    Would this Ram upgrade work on my Laptop?

    hey :), i have a Samsung R20 laptop which came with 1g ram, but i have vista so i now only have 768ram :(. so i was looking on different websites that sell ram sticks but i dont know if theres restrictions on them, heres some that i found on play.com http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/32748...B-PC133-SD-RAM-32x8-168-Pin-Dimm/Product.html

    find out what type of ram module the R20 uses (example pc2-5300) if it is the same type then it will work

    it uses 1GB PC4200 533MHz DDR2 RAM (2 x 512MB), it says on this website,so those wouldn't work :(, does any1 know where i could buy PC4200 ran sticks lol

    Both of your links point to DESKTOP memory.

    The R20 uses 533MHz DDR2 SODIMMs. Anything that matches that specification will work best here, but your computer can compensate for faster or slower clocked memory as long as it's DDR2.

    EDIT: PC5300 SODIMMs should work, they will just be downclocked to match the PC4200 specification.

    5300 will work. DDR2 downclocks.

    Make sure it's 200-pin not 240-pin.

    200-pin = laptop
    240-pin = desktop
