I bought mine couple of weeks ago for €92 (including shipping), so - yes, I would :D I don't know about the 1TB, but nowadays it's better to wait a little bit before you buy a new technology :)

The WD5000BEVT has very competitive pricing and is a good performer. It came out top in this review. The Hitachi 5K500.B is more power efficient if this is of importance to you.

At the moment there are no announcements about bigger 2.5" HDDs. The jump from 320GB to 500GB gave users a lot of extra space to fill. I would expect, when there is something bigger, then 750GB will come first.

Yeah, you won't see 1TB drives for quite some time, 640GB and 750Gb will hit the market first. I would expect them in Q4, though I havent seen any announcements yet.

At the end of the day, there is always something bigger/faster/better around the corner, so just buy when you need to, or want to.

The most important things to me are

    1: Space
    2: Power efficiency
