I'll start with my best score for my Asus C90P laptop; Q9650 @3.33ghz
32M - 12.03secs![]()

Would love to see some others, especially from the core 2 quads and upcoming I7s!

Nice! Almost 3.5 secs faster than my little Q9650
Pretty crushing score considering even the 920XM I think scores about 11secs!
-
I get 9 seconds stock, while running itunes and mozilla, if that helps..

Is your i7 in your lappie?
Is that stock 2.66ghz score.

Yes it is.

Interesting! So the 965 at 3.2ghz is barely quicker than the 920. Suprised at how small the gap is!

It's killing me I can't find it, but there was a discussion about the Q9xx vs i7 in the Sager forum with JWnFL, and we had someone post an 820QM @ 32M and I thought it was ~12.5 seconds as well.. The search is driving me batty, but when I eventually find it I'll post it.

That sounds about right considering the 920XM gets 10.9 secs.

Indeed. Clock speed is hardly a factor with the new architecture, of course this is with highly multi-threaded apps, and Turbo-Boost makes up for the single and dual core stuff. Truly very ingenious engineering.

Lol so basically you are throwing money away getting anything "better" than the 920 for now hehe looks like you made the correct choice there

Core i7-975 Extreme Edition
@3.33GHz
Vista x64 SP2 (All OS default settings)
do not just compare the 32M score, look at the 1024M as well.
from my review of the system.
Let me find the pic of wPrime score... with the OC to around 4.00GHz with the Core i7. -
For benchmark bragging rights, obviously the 965 is the way to go, but since I could hardly give a crap about benchmarks, and not to mention the ridiculous price, I saw no reason to go that route. I can OC to 3Ghz comfortably, but I am a temp nazi, so stock is just fine.
Haha must be nice to get to 4Ghz, I was considering water cooling, out of my budget though. 600mhz doesnt really make a significant difference, hence the 1.5 seconds; just not justifiable imo.
All in all I feel the "bottom barrel" (if you could call it that) i7 is more than adequate for everything, and stepping up to the next model doesnt justify the price hike. -

Wow that is very quick indeed! I wonder if 64bit will give better score than 32bit? -
that is Vista x64... meaning 64-bit.
-

yeah not disputing that was just wondering to myself whether if upgrading from 32bit xp to 64bit 7 the score would be quicker?
-
It is demonstrated from Gophn's review of the D900F that that is the case (at least with Vista), especially when taken to values larger than 32M.
Go do it!
Wprime scores for quad and upcoming i7's! Please post:)
