    Regarding this item:
    Buy.com - Creative X-Fi 70SB124000001 External Sound Box

I am a previous user of a Soundblaster Audigy PCMCIA card from my old (and now dead) laptop. Obviously, newer laptops do not come with PCMCIA and there are really no options for an ExpressCard sound card (the X-Fi expresscard version doesn't even have optical out or multi-channel out).

Does the X-Fi HD external box support pass-through of Dolby Digital / DTS to an external receiver from movies? I am a normal user of PowerDVD and worked flawlessly with the Audigy card.

Also, does the X-Fi still use the EAX control panel for different sound environments and what not? With the Audigy EAX, I was able to tune a parametric equalizer (I believe that's what it was called). Is this option still available?

Thanks all for your help. My current laptop is in my sig. After searching for a laptop with an express card slot, it may not be as useful as I thought it would be when it comes to soundcards.
