I'm interested in buying the samsung 215tw for home use with my laptop (equiped with at x1400). I will be plugging the 215tw to the dvi output port on my Fujitsu Siemens amilo pi1536.
My main concern is the resolution..
Will the x1400 be able to output a 1680 x 1050 resolution (the max resolution of the 215tw)??
Thanks

Yes, that'll be fine.
Just don't expect to play games in that resolution! -
1680x1050 is perfectly fine, seeing that the E1505 can come with that resolution LCD.

OK thanks...
No, i never expected to play games with that resolution... but i'd like to enjoy the desktop space in windows use
I was in doubt because when i choose the list all modes option, 1680x1050 isn't listed so i decided to make sure before spending money... -

It should say on the specifications page of the laptop the maximum resolution it can output. Most laptops I have seen can do up to QXGA (2048x1536).
You'll be just fine as posted. -
My wimpy SiS chip can, and so can an old Radeon 9000 IGP, so I would say yes.

Hi again...
My 215tw has finally arrived and the x1400 can output 1680*1050.
One problem though, when i use the DVI to DVI i get no picture on the monitor..
My laptop only has a dvi output port. When i use the DVI-DSub converter and plug it in to the D-Sub of the monitor it works well, however when i use DVI to DVI i get nothing..
Any ideas?
Thanks -

I would start off with a different set of drivers; try the Omegas:

See what that does. -
I just tried them out but still no luck!
Any other ideas?? -
Hi again..
Was wondering.. could it possibly be from the cable?
The DVI cable im using is DVI-D however it isn't dual link..
Don't know, just a thought.. -
Today i borrowed an asus laptop of a friend of mine equipped with Nvidia 7300 to connect to the 215tw using its DVI out and it worked fine. So im guessing its something to do with my laptop or ATI....
Still no ideas??
Thanks
X1400 resolution
