Is the battery life with the 1.6 better than the 1.4?
I've heard the 1.4 is more energy efficient than the 1.2 (as well as performance)

    thanks

The performance and battery life won't be noticeably different between any of the processors.

I know, but I'm more looking for numbers

What type of numbers? Most users don't run CPU demanding programs on the go, so battery life will be the pretty much the same. What tasks are you doing to measure performance? Loading Windows, multitasking? They will also perform the same. If you are number crunching, it will typically be a linear increase, so 1.6 is around 10-15% faster than the 1.4, which can translate into a few seconds off WPrime 1M. To me the numbers are trivial for majority of uses since you would be hard pressed to actually notice them in any real life situation.

I mean any significant difference in battery life under normal use. Any usage tests, the times, etc
I'm just wondering if anyones had any personal experiences running between the two machines under similar conditions

But if you said the times shouldn't be noticeable then there's my answers

It's hard to find someone who shells out money for two X301's, so for all intend and purposes, you should just be content that the power consumption between the two processors are comparable to each other, unless you're doing some extremely CPU-intensive task.

I don't think you'd see any difference in real life. Even if you loaded up the CPUs and the 1.6 draws more power, the 1.6 CPU would have to draw that extra power for less time than the 1.4.

If you do need to run CPU-intensive apps regularly, I think you'd do yourself a favour by crossing the X301 off your list.
