I tried to search for an X3100 thread, until I noticed there is no search function in this forum (weird).

What I want to know is if the X3100 still provides better performance for games in XP? I read somewhere that the card is sufficient for Unreal Tournament 2004, Counter-Strike Source and Half-Life 2. Mind you, I experience a good deal of lag in all these games whenever any action happens even on lowest settings.
So I thought maybe I will be better off with XP?

Not really. XP doesn't offer any consistent performance increase in games over Vista.

This gives you some idea of the X3100's performance under x86 Vista. Also, I don't know the X3100's performance in particular games... look up benchmarks for that. What I do know is that Intel's chips are not designed for gaming... nor do they offer decent graphics power (yet).

@Radagast check the link in my first post.

Its a good idea to check that review too, although there are 3-4 driver updates since then which made the performance a little better(not always and not for everybody though :)).
