when i originally bought my laptop i oced it to 3.2ghz quite easily through the bios , but i never really needed it so i went down to normal clock speed.

since i got gta4 which is apprently a cpu hog i thougt i wud oc again, at 3.0ghz all works fine but as soon as i hit 3.2ghz i get some blue screen saying windows has closed to prevent hardware damage...

how can this be , ive played crysis why my cpu was overclocked, anybody got ideas why this is happening now?

Maybe the volate is too low, did you happen to undervolt the CPU?

well if it truly is cpu intensive, there's your answer, it' snot use to such extensive usage whether it's through voltage or heat

usually if it's heat, i think u'd know right away, ur computer would feel like a friggn oven, so i'm guessing it's probably stability issues

like u sed frozen darkness, its probably a stability issue , because the blue screen appears as soon as i try to login to my computer. its not heat because the cpu is oced to 3.0ghz atm and playing games and all the temp never rises over 53-55 during intensive use atm its 36 so going up to 3.2ghz shudnt increase temp that much

but how do u fix this lol XD

so with playing games your X9000 does not get hotter than 53-55? What games do you play?

You mean that you have a laptop cooler? My X9100 reaches temps over 110° if I disable CPU throttling with RMClock after playing a couple of minutes of Enemy Territory Quake Wars :'(
