Are you looking for a 6GB / 8GB stick of RAM or are you looking for 2 sticks of RAM that total to 6GB / 8GB? If you are looking to achieve a maximum of 6GB or 8GB then you will have a hard time finding these because they aren't mainstream amounts of RAM. Also, 6GB / 8GB of RAM is an overkill and will run you anywhere from $500 - $1000+.

Cheapest I could help you find are:

    Mushkin's 2x4GB
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226047

    and a single G.Skill 1x4GB module
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231202

May I acquire why do you need 6-8GB of RAM and for what purposes? Intensive photoshopping usage such as photo stitching, poster making? Running various VMWare Virtual OSes? CADding? 3ds Max? Professional Workstation applications?

If these things explained above is not what you do on a daily basis, then 4GB is enough for you.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Yes Maya uses quite a RAM amount too. I think you should probably buy a single G.Skill 1x4GB stick at $169, since you already have a 2x4GB setup which I assume you have, you can just use 6GB first. I agree, they're still very expensive. But here, an 2x4GB setup costs over ~USD$1200 - the cheapest. :( I got my set for $350 + shipping to Singapore. Considered quite a steal over here. :D

If only the 8GB modules would become more cheap in the future, sure would like to have an extra 4 GB in mine..
