    Hello!
Is it possible to upgrade from Centrino Duo (propably 2x1.66) Yonah to any of Meroms? And if so, will it gain full 64-bit architecture?
I have a great problem deciding to buy duo or wait for merom.

    My (limited) understanding,

The socket will be the same, so assuming the manufacturer hasn't done anything wierd (like soldered the chip to the motherboard, does anyone even do that anymore?) then yes, physically you should be able to put a Merom in.

However my understanding is it would require a BIOS update to enable it properly (and for at least most of the standard manufacturers it's unlikely that they will come out with these at least IMHO).

I am not so sure that the i945 which is used with the duo (yonah) will even support higher FSBs. Anyone heard anything about that?
