    You cant imagine how stupid i was, to start with i got a wonderful nw8240 machine i got for my University. It was used and with it came a 100gig hitachi hard drive so it wasnt hp original.

    Now to the problem!!!

    The hard drive broke, and i happily sent it to hitachi in HOLLAND ! i live in Sweden, 3 weeks later i get a new, which seem a bit short ?!!? I had sent the motherboard adapter with it, i had no clue, never changed a 2.5 drive before.

    3 phonecalls to hitachi , they cant find the adapter.
    I call HP, and explain, they say "it" might work with this spare part 379808-001.
    This is a new 40gig , 5400rpm drive with mounting bracket, only 300$ !!!! Im a poor student thats my whole rent for a month.

    I called 3 diffrent repait centers in Sweden to see if they possible had a spare plastic psc adapter but no luck, the drive is IDE and i am now clueless what to do ?!!?

    If someone have a crashed or in some way can help me i will pay for shipping and for the heart to being able to help me .

    Please i am clueless, in the HP NW8240 blueprint it doesnt show up, so only way i think is either a burned computer, or if someone somwhow work in a HP repair center....


    The thing is, Hitachi told me i should have read the packaging instructions, i never got any ! I just got an adress and had to pay for the shipping my self !
