I have read somewhere that while you're using the laptop with the battery and power plug, it will diminish its battery's life. Is that true? Thanks

Actually, if you're referring to the AC adapter, it actually charges the battery. No bad things happen when you're plugged in, unless of course, you try to move when you're plugged in.

There are many myths about rechargable batteries. Many people say they have a memory and I believe this is what you are thinking of. They don't. That came from very early versions of NiCad batteries that had a memory issue where they would not last as long if you didn't fully drain them. That issue was resolved and Lithium batteries do not suffer from this.
The things that cause a battery to begin to lose its charge are number of cycles(how many times it has been discharge and charged, and then things like heat and time. Also, not using them can cause them not to hold a charge as well, so if you have two batteries make sure you switch them out. -
Great! That just solved the problem because I rarely use the battery.

I think that I read something like this in the asus forum. It's like battery wear. Some people says that if you charge and discharge your battery often it causes that the wear of the battery increase.
So some people recomends that when you arrive at 30% of battery start charging it.
I have an Acer since 6 months ago and the NHC says that I have a battery wear of 18%, but last month it said that I had 20%.
Your battery life will dimish if you....
