I installed this on my Acer 7750G (6650M, Windows 7) but i think something is not right with the colors / contrast / gama - don't know what. The "symptom" is that colours appear very oversaturated hence not accurate (rather distorted) and there's no tonal gradation near white tones, every tone thats close to light color, approaching white, is just bright blinding white. Grays are rather cyanish, not gray.
Any ideas?
The windows calibration process is just useless doesn't affect anything. In color management all options are left at default values, (same as with my desktop IPS HP ZR24W that shows colours accurately out of the box)
And is there maybe some way to make downsampling to 1600 x 900 be as crisp as the native resolution ?
Thanks

Downsampling is not going to look as good as the original resolution. What was the original LCD model number in your laptop?
-
Thanks for the response. Just a long shot about downsampling, as i was surprised when i got my 24" desktop HP IPS ZR24W to see it downsampling almost like a CRT.
Here are pics of the stickers on the back of the original screen (LG LP173WD1-TLA3)
Is there a chance maybe of being a matter of drivers or proper ICC profile? I haven't found either -
- Something maybe about cables? I just used whatever cables were already there for the stock LG screen?
- Is there a chance maybe that the AUO monitor draws more power than the stock LG ?
- Are there maybe out there 1600 x 900 17.3 IPS, VA, or wide gamut TN screens ? -

I'd start with reinstalling the video card driver. Download the new one first (from Acer's support site); uninstall the current video card driver via the Control Panel (Start > Run > appwiz.cpl); then go to the device manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc) and uninstall the monitor (expand "Monitors" > right-click your laptop's monitor > Uninstall). Restart, install the new video card driver, and restart again.
If that doesn't help, eliminate whether software is causing the issue; download a CD bootable version of Linux (like Mint) and see what it looks like. That would be rather telling.
As a last resort, you could try a calibration device like a Spyder 3 Express. -
Hi guys, I'd like help with my new B173HW01 V.4 glossy too. I replaced the LCD of my Razer Blade just now, and it's been great, but the whites seem yellow. I found some color profiles here but they don't seem to be changing anything. Also, most importantly, I can't change brightness anymore. I've reinstalled NVIDIA display driver, still no dice. Is there like a monitor driver that can be downloaded?
-
yeap it would had been nice if there was a hardware driver for this monitor, its recognized as generic PNP monitor now. Where are the colour profiles you found?
-
I found them here at NBR too

Some don't work correctly though, whites are too yellow. Still looking for a brightness adjustment fix though.
EDIT: I suddenly have a realization though, is it possible that I have a fake or imitation panel? I bought it from this site: http://lcdpanel.taiwantrade.com.tw/
They seem like a legit company (AUO is Taiwan-based after all), but the color profiles I'm downloading everywhere don't seem to match to my panel (the colors are messed up, too red or too yellow) -
I have no personal experience but I have see http://stereopsis.com/flux/ recommended in a similar thread
Your help please with AUO B173HW01 V4
