--> Strange enough, Z-CPU claims i have a "Dothan" core. Yet, NHC says i have a "Sonoma" core. Z-CPU also says that the processor is a Pentium M740 which corresponds to the "Sonoma" core as well. Simmilarly, i am pretty sure the lowest clock setting is 800mhz.
Has there been precedence where Z-CPU has given false data? Also, In the memory tab, Z-CPU states that, w/ my configuration, the memory is running in dual channel. I understood this to be impossible w/ 1 512 stick and another 256.
Any Thoughts?

Sonoma was the codename given to the Centrino platform. Other programs may see the processor as being Sonoma, whichg is technically incorrect, as the actual processor name is Dothan. You can get some more information on the link below:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centrino
What is the toal amount of physical RAM you have in your ntoebook? Perhaps, you have 1 GB, but some may be used in an integrated graphics processor. This may be what is causing the memory to show up in dual channel mode. -
In his signature it says GMA900 which is an integrated graphics chip so yeah the RAM is less than u installed because with integrated graphics chips, some of the system RAM is reserved for the graphics chip. However CPU-Z cud just be wrong about the dual channel. 800mhz is correct but the core can run a few mhz lower or higher, this is normal. upgrade to the latest version if u havent and see what it says then

Sonoma is the platform, and Dothan is the cpu.
Just like now, Merom is the cpu (c2d) and Napa is the platform.
Soon, the Santa Rosa platform will be released, and dunno what the cpu name will be.
So one's reading the cpu name, the other the platform name. -
The processor name for the Santa Rosa platform will remain Merom. All Intel hasve done, have given it a faster FSB, and left it otherwise the same. The main differences come from the chipset, and wireless adapter.

Great... thanks for the clearing it up
