i have a zv5000 laptop with an amd athlon xp ( socket 754 yes i know its weird but thats what it has ) anyways it has amd power now in it i belive thats whats at work here. well the only way i can get it to run at 1.6ghz is to plug it in and set it to high preformance mode. any other situation it runs at 800mhz even if its in high preformance mode on battery. anyone know how to make this run at 1.6ghz because vista isnt very happy with an 800mhz cpu.

Make sure you disable AMD Cool and quiet in the BIOS if your system has it and turn off any CPU throttling in windows. Is there any option to set the CPU multiplier in the BIOS..??(such as at auto or any no.??)
Also download RMClock and see if you can set p-state transition through it....it might help you to manage the multiplier..!!
