i put a cd into my cd drive, popped it in, and the dvd drive popped right back open...with no disk!! my laptop ate my cd!!! how do i get it out! im freaking out right now!!
-
Why would the laptop eat up the CD ?
A disc cannot get out of the ODD module. You can remove the ODD and check if there is any sort of opening at the rear of the module. -
Have you fed your laptop recently? If not, you might want to consider trading it a grilled cheese sandwich in return for your CD.
But in seriousness, was the disc popped in completely, or was the laptop jarred after you inserted the disc? My guess is the disc just came loose inside and did not come out. Does the tray slide back in? Do not force it. Try turning the laptop upside-down, pushing the tray in, then opening it again. -

Are you sure you inserted a disc ?
Try removing the ODD module, and investigate....
You could try putting in another disc, but it could cause damage to the ODD, since there'll be 2 discs in the tray. (?!?) -
wth? ok, i put in a new cd, and its reading it. does that mean its not in there? i also might mention i have labelflash.
-
I would take out the ODD and give it a bit of light shaking. I'd be weary of putting in two discs, it can be very bad for a drive.
-
ok, my dad got home, he's a computer guy and has had several laptops, first shook it, no noise, and then looked inside and said i was crazy, cause appearently it has a metal back or soemthing at the back of the drive so there was no way it could slip in, and theres none you can see. so he says its probably sitting around were i tried to put it in
lol i kinda feel stupid -
Well your dad knows you better than I so if he says you are crazy? Well like I said he knows you.
I doubt two disc's would work at the same time. Chalk it up to a momentary psychotic break from reality. But the good news is no one was hurt and your notebook is fine. -
Yes, something tells me there never was a disk in the drive
-
*edit* though i could have let a demon nero cd loose on the world.
*edit 2* sorry everybody for the false alarm!
aaaaaa help!!!!
