    acer 5920g (1.5ghz) cpu upgrade

    Found out the cpu will not work with the notebook =(.

    Confessing to a crime (fraud) is not a good idea. I think you should stay away from upgrading this CPU as to keep from sending it back to Acer and having to commit fraud again. When you asked them the upgrade question had you already giving them personal info? If so not good. A 7300 on a 667Mhz will not run at 2Ghz if it runs at all.

    No, I didn't give them any personal info, but I highly doubt its considered "fraud", when the only info I gave them about the problem is the notebook won't turn on. And the 7300 isn't running at 667mhz. You can run cpu's with different fsb's on the same motherboard, IF the motherboard supports it. And I never requested the notebook be fixed under waranty, just that it be fixed.

    It is not worth the time and effort to get a few more hundred mhz
