I think you're better off adding/upgradding normal memory (ram) instead. Users all over the net have complained about first generation of turbo ram; bugs, slowdown of the performance...etc

hello mate.will be upgrading the ram from 2gb 667mhz to 4gb 800 mhz but the newer models have the turbo memory factory installed so thought for £20 would be worth trying, its just dont know if the model i got will have the connection to install it

The 4gb will be also a waist if you don't have a Vista 64bit as your OS will only recognise and use between 3 and 3.5gb. If you have 2x1gb and feel the need for more memory you should only buy 1x2gb so to have a total of 3gb and sell the other one in ebay.

ok .i thought the ram had to be added in equal amounts ie 2x2gig or 2x1gig ,and that it would seriously slow down if you did odd amounts. i know at present it wont reconise the full 4 gig but it is being addressed in vista sp2 to see full amount, can anyone recomend the best ram for me to buy or are they all the same and just go for the cheapest

It all depends on how much you want to spend on the ram.

for the speed check first the ram in your laptop as there is no point getting a ram module faster that the one you have in your laptop. Because the 2 gb module will be downclocked to much the 1 gb module you already have.
well, you can get a faster module but only if it's cheaper than a slower one.

If it was me I'll go with a cheap brand such as infineon.
