I want to add a second hard drive to my 1720. My current one is a Seagate Momentus 5400.3 SATA 160-GB Hard Drive ST9160821AS. The cheapest I found it was on newegg for about 110$. But I found some on ebay for around 80$ + shipping.

Is ebay a reliable source for getting hard drives?

A lot of people are very happy with what they bought on ebay but there may be a greater risk of getting something sold as new but is actually a returned product. Look for a seller with good feedback.

Have you checked the 1720 user manual for adding a second HDD. Do you need a special caddy or adaptor?

    Hi Burkle,

Can you give me a link to that caddy on the dell website?

    I can't find it.

    Kind regards
