    Hi,

    I have a fully functional Inspiron 8200, and a dead Inspiron 8600.

As such, would be great if i could transplant the intel prowireless card from the i8600 to the i8200.

there only appears to be one antenna connector on the 8200, so i plugged that into the socket labeled "main".

it dosent seem to be working, the BIOS lists it as "Unknown".

    Any suggestions?

    cheers

I dont know what the problem is.
Could be that your chipset can't support the card.
Also maybe you need to update the BIOS.

Does it say "code 12" or something similar?

cant remember, i've taken it back out now. running the latest bios, it said "unknown" in bios, however device manager saw it correctly, driver installed.

the error was the device cannot start. might have been code 10?
