I'm going to reinstall windows because the raid setup i used didn't exactly work out the way i wanted. Anyway i'm now wondering what is the best setting for my motherboard, it has three options: IDE, AHCI and RAID. I simply have no idea what ahci is, except that i have read somewhere that the intel application accelerator needs a AHCI or RAID driver, and this application seems to result in a better performance. On the other hand when i use the setting IDE i don't have to install aditional drivers which seems more stable.
So should i install the ahci drivers or should i just keep the setting on IDE. And more important does the intel application accelerator really make a difference?
    Thx!

Depends on whether or not you have SATA drives. AHCI is Advanced Host Controller Interface.
If you have SATA drives, then you would need to use this controller and the drivers. Check >>> HERE<<< for info.

The Intel Application Accelerator will usually make everything run a lot better, including a RAID array. If you had less than satisfactory results from your RAID and didn't install The Intel Application Accelerator, could be that was part of the problem.

    Hope this helps.
