hi,
will airport x-ray damage/harm hard disk drive data?
-
No sir, they will not.
-
so i shouldn't worry, no damage what so ever? zilch, none? thanks!
-
If its a dell it might make the battery explode >.>
I jist. I Jist -
hahhah, yeah right -
I would still backup your HDD especially on your travels...
-
I'd back up every week or so anyway.

no x ray can't damage your HD
a powerful magnet might, or bumps could damage your HD
HD uses magnetic read write head so you've got nothing to worry from x ray
unless it's like industry high output x ray, then that'd thing would fry any electronic -
thanks! that convinces me
oh btw, how shock/vibration resistance is hard drive? can i shake them when they are working?
-
They're pretty good at taking vibration - but that doesn't mean you should try it. If it's likely that the drive will experience shock or vibration while it's operating, make sure you do backup the important stuff.
-
The modern HDs should have g'force measurements in them so upon dropping your laptop or if it is experiencing high g's it will stop running to prevent data loss. I read this somewhere...
