Could work, but you will have to fabricate your own heatsink.
You will have to use SG mode, Pascal is eDP only and you have an LVDS display, so you will need the intel HD to drive the display. -

Agreed, but most people arent comfortable with soldering on a vBIOS chip, though maybe someone local can take care of that.

The only issue is that you need a little bit of heatsink modification but not as far as this msi 1080, gpu hole are offcenter a bit comparing to regular card -
For most its enough to quit right there as they means desoldering the plate and repositioning. Not a huge endeavor but most people tap out when it comes to baking your heatsink.

If the heatpipe are not right on top the screw hole of the card you could just need to drill 4 new holes and that's it
