I am interested in a non-name brand notebook using the Amd turion cpu. Powernotebooks.com has a very limited selection and gentechpc.com appears to be sold out. Are there any other options for third party integrators?

rjtech.com... have a wide variety, asus, compals, clevo, and others... i think msi... but why would you want a turion as opposed to core 2 duo??

Check in the ASUS and MSI forums here for where people have been buying from.
hbomb174: Some of us are very skeptical of a company that thought Netburst and Itanium were good ideas. -
msi is your brand of choice if your looking for amd notebooks. i think there what yo umean by no-name brand as there is no marketing campaign, although there motherboard and notebook quality is very respectable. however to my knowledge they have not yet released a turion x2 with decent graphics if thats what yoru looking for. although the question still comes up, why are u specifying turion?

brainstretch: i've heard of netburst, barely heard of itanium, can you define these terms? also just because you think/thought something was a good idea doesn't mean you are wrong does it? i mean they did get rid of it... its not like im telling you to buy a pentium 4, im just wondering why you wouldn't want a core 2 duo instead, as far as i know there is no correlation between netburst/itanium/core2duo am i correct?

Itanium=server system. It sucked...big time. It was more powerful than AMD's chip, but required so much more energy to use. That translated into a LOT more dollars being spent to run the thing. There's an Itanium II out right now. It's a vast improvement on the first one, but the costs to run it are still really high.
There's no correlation between the architechtures themseves, but the hype around them might be similar. Intel promoted Netburst and Itanium like crazy...and so some people may think that all the claims of C2D is a bunch of bull (personally I believe in the power of C2Ds xD).
